Ok we're back and stonkered. Our new mayor and council are fab!

On a personal note, I'm still trying to work out if one should kiss  first on the left or the right. I tried both tonight and also waited to see which side the French went for first and it seems there is no consensus! No matter, because once you get past the 'Bonjour, comment tu va?' stage it's all great. No-one listens to your answer anyway. So there you go. Goodnight

Welcome back readers! I lost the will to blog - for three years! Too knackered from work to be bothered to tell anybody about it I suppose. For those that are interested in that kind of thing, here's a list of what we've done:-

connected ourselves to the main sewer with 30 meters of pipe;
laid 30 tonnes of concrete in the barn as a floor;
installed a wood burner in the kitchen and at the same time rebuilt the kitchen;
put a salle de bain privée (that's an en suite bog and shower to you) in the bedroom;
built a covered terrace in the garden with Stephenson's rocket style BBQ;
one third built a back garden wall;
got married;
and so on......

Ok we've just had the elections for the Mayor and council and there're drinks tonight at the Mairie so we're off to that now. Bye.
